Saba Saba - Harbour Race.
The Saba Saba Harbour race this year was not unlike other harbour races in the past which involved retirements, wrong mark roundings, missing marks, large ships in the channel and the TPA Police. It was interesting to say the least!!!
We had a starting fleet of 11 yachts which included 4 newcomers to the fleet for the current sailing season. Jaap and Kobus Flew up from South Africa to join in the festivities on Rhapsody, Jammy Dodger joined in for her first harbour race, Valencia decided to grace us with her presence after a sabbatical and welcome to Fabrizio on Wimby Nyota who joined us for the first time. Attached and below are the final results for the June Monthly Mug. We did say it wasn’t over yet………..

The Race:
A windward start, using the new club outer and the committee boat saw the fleet heading for Nvovu as the windward mark. The wind that had increase from just a few knots to a 30 knot buster caught out a few yacht and there were some spectacular broaches while sailing to windward.
